Software Engineer - New Markets Team

Otovo provides solar panels to homeowners and we use software and technology to make solar energy easy, cheap, and available everywhere. We make solar easy by providing tailored offers to customers visiting our website and entering their address. No need for home visits. We make solar cheap by providing a platform where installers compete on price and quality to get projects. We make solar available everywhere by quickly expanding our platform to new markets all over the world. We have come a long way since launching in 2016—we now have happy, solar-producing customers in Norway, Sweden, France, Spain, Poland, Italy, Germany and Brazil. We won't stop until there’s local and clean energy in every home.

What you will do

We are setting up a new team that will be dedicated to launching Otovo in new markets. This cross-functional team will collaborate on everything from regulatory hurdles to localization and scalable product adaptations. Together, we will make sure that Otovo hits the ground running and wins in these new markets.

You will work across the organization with people from an ever growing number of countries, backgrounds and cultures. All the while using this insight to create the best product possible.

You will be a part of a highly cross-functional team that:

• Localize and adapt the platform to make it work in new markets Otovo is launching in
• Assist with onboarding new local teams, and getting them to a place where they can perform as efficiently as the markets we are already in
• Iterate on our go-to-market process so that the next market launch goes even smoother than the last one. You will break numerous Otovo-records during this work.
• You don’t have to be a 10x engineer, but you will be working on 10x solutions, so make sure to bring your growth mindset; you deliver today, but build for tomorrow.

Who we think you are

• You are ambitious, consistently looking to improve the way you work  and not afraid to make mistakes.
• You have experience with web development, ideally also some experience with our tech-stack; Python, Django, Javascript, React and Postgres.
• You are committed to writing clean code of high quality, and have experience with developing solid and scalable software architecture
• You are pragmatic and able to deliver fast when you need to, and your solutions are built to last
• You are self-driven,take ownership of your tasks and are not afraid to contribute with ideas.

Hiring process

• First interview - informal first meeting with potential future colleagues.
• Case interview - working on one or two realistic problems together.
• Third interview - meeting up with colleagues outside of the product function.

If all of the above checks out nicely, we'll call a reference that you provide before we send you an offer. The whole process should take between 2 and 3 weeks.
