UX designer, Platform team

As one of Europe's fastest growing greentech start-ups, we're determined to make our dream of bringing local and clean energy to every home a reality.

Otovo provides solar panels to homeowners  and we use software and technology to make solar energy easy, cheap, and available everywhere.

  • We make solar easy by providing tailored offers to customers visiting our website and entering their address. No need for home visits.
  • We make solar cheap by providing a platform where installers compete on price and quality to get assignments.
  • We make solar available everywhere by quickly expanding our platform to new markets all over the world.

We have come a long way since launching in 2016—we're in Norway, Sweden, France, Spain, Poland, Italy, Germany and Brazil and we won't stop expanding.

We'd like your help

This position is a design role in our product team for the Otovo Platform, where you’ll be working with a Design lead, developers, Product and Engineering managers. This team owns and manages the digital experience of our installation partners - hundreds of small and big companies across Europe who rely on our platform to support their everyday business.

We also manage the experience of Otovo’s Operations heroes across all our markets - Otovo’s platform is their number one tool - where they log in every morning and spend the majority of their day. Once a customer has signed up for an installation, it is these digital products that will support and enable a real life Solar installation to appear on that roof and start producing clean energy.Working with the platform means talking to our installation partners to understand what it takes to transform a sold project into actual energy production. It means getting close to our colleagues across the world to understand their pains and ways of working, and to recognize potential for doing things in a better way. We know the potential is out there, waiting for you.

We believe in the strength of depth and diversity. We want to be challenged and that you pull us in new directions. You will shape the experience of our digital products, as well as evangelize design culture in the company. Together with your team , you will push the company to its potential, across Europe.

What will I be doing?

In our team, you will create designs and concepts for all our products directed at installation partners and staff, both independently and in collaboration with the team’s Design lead. You will also work closely with our solar partners, operations and engineering team to gain and spread insights and understanding.

We imagine you have more than 2 years of experience, but being "experienced" is more about attitude than a number of years. Your story will show us that you are an inspiring UX designer who can take an important role.

You have:

  • Experience with problem solving and designing for digital experiences.
  • Demonstrated strong interaction and visual design skills.
  • Ability to create dirty prototypes and sketches to communicate ideas and directions.
